For my grade 11 English ISU we had to pick two books with the same theme and compare them. I decided to pick Jane Austen's classic Pride and Prejudice and Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones's Diary. Now I know what your thinking, how could these two books, written almost 200 years apart have anything to do with one another. Well after reading both books I found that the plots were very similar. And what does this tell us? That we as humans deal with love and the pressures of getting married the same way we did in the Victorian era, so perhaps we aren't as evolved as we think.
